Combining elements of adult-alternative pop and classic soul tinged with modern electronic atmospheres, Devan is a singer, songwriter, and producer based in Toronto. She had already released an album as a member of indie folk group Wild Rivers before making her solo debut with a pair of EPs in 2021. She followed a second Wild Rivers album (2022's Sidelines) and their Juno for Breakthrough Group of the Year with more-soul-minded solo singles including 2023's "Still Think You Do" and "London."
