Very rough on heels
Due to a joint repair in my foot, I am always on the lookout for a hiking boot with a stiff sole and big toe box. This boot provides that, and is definitely quite comfy compared to other narrower options. It's very sturdy and definitely waterproof (tried and tested). However, whenever I hiked on a steep trail my heels would get torn up (more than a typical blister) and take weeks to heal before I could even think of putting these back on. There's a lot of pressure put on the heel on every step -- not just rubbing, but I felt like I had a contusion near the bottom of my achilles. I tried every preventative measure on the market, as well as various methods to prevent heel slipping, but was still met with a lot of pain after 6 months of attempted break-in. It's possible I have the wrong size, but a few other reviews mention a similar issue. I think it comes down to stiffness and design.

I am impressed!
I wore these hiking boots in all the conditions of Quebec so far; snow, mud, water, cold and hot... I had a foot completely submerged in water and my sock was completely dry and my foot was never cold (-5 Celsius degrees). They were confy right out of the box. They are very good quality and combined with Merinos whool socks they are perfect. I don't understand the very bad reviews as they absolutely do not hurt my feet. I do understand though that what may fit on may not fit everyone. Try them for yourself!

Terrible Boot
I bought these boots to replace another pair of Vasque Boots. After hiking, I came home with blisters on my big toes. Fortunately they healed, however, the boots seem stiff. I've been wearing them for four months, and they just can't be broken in. I actually fell wearing the boots. They are just too stiff!!! I wish I could wear my old ones, but the tread is too worn down.

Horrible
I bought these a couple months ago after having a great pair of boots for over 10 years. These are so stiff and even after breaking them in before hiking, I developed blisters in my heels. I decided to give them more chances by trying other modalities (athletic tape, insoles, mole skin) and each time, I developed blisters. After developing bursitis on my heel at the site of the blisters, I finally decided it was time to return.

Comfortable and dry
I’ve been wearing these all summer on weekend hikes. Blister free since my first hike (10 miles 3700 elevation gain). These boots have held up well.

Missing 7195 Breeze III GTX
Tried hard to make these work as I had bought several Vasque previously. I tried new socks, extra liners, duct tape to the heels, etc, but these new shoes cause too many blisters. Even today by mile 3-4 they were already forming hotspots. Hate to return a vasque, but my feet do 20-40 miles every week.

I have not hiked in them yet; just worn them around my house to "break them in" although I don't think that was even necessary. I didn't notice any rubbing at all. I think they will be fine on the trail. I am hoping they have great traction--one of the things I've been needing. The bottom looks pretty good for that. FYI, I have a skinny foot AND ankle and this boot doesn't slip on my heel. Hallelujah! About the sizing: This boot runs a tiny bit small--I usually wear a 9.5 but had to get a 10. Also, this boot's Medium width is actually a Narrow. Strange. I would suggest calling or chatting with customer service to be sure you are getting the size you need.
