If you're thinking about it...JUST DO IT BECAUSE IT WORKS!!!

I'm 44 years old and at my last doctors visit was told I needed to exercise more...YIKES! I started researching all cardio machines but wanted something that did more that just cardio. I'm the type of person that gets bored with the same excercise routine so when the Bowflex HVT came out I knew it w...

Good but not worth the price

IF you are looking for an aerobic workout that is easy on the joints with only minimal strength training, it is sufficient. However, due to the lack of tension, especially in the negative portion of the movement, you are not going to get the cascade of anti-aging benefits of dealing with weights or ...

I'm in better shape with this than ever in my life

I've been using the HVT every other day for a year now. I'm 52 and I've been using ellipticals, treadmills, band machines and free weights my whole life. With the year of just HVT I've lost 30 pounds and dropped to 14% body fat. I've got more body definition in my core areas than ever before and my overall health has improved. I used to suffer from back pain and while I still have pain from a back injury, I'm mostly free of the lower back issues I had in the past. The variety and intensity of the training is terrific. While my knees won't let me jump and do some of the more colorful leg workouts I simply substitute my own into the mix. It's terrific. I do have an issue with the ropes twisting but I just spend a few minutes a week and untwist the lines on all 6 pulleys. It's not a big problem. I'm using the HVT with an old Samsung Note 10.1 tablet and it's syncing all my workouts to Google Fit.

So I am embarrassed say I bought this probably close to 2 years ago. Everyone said I wouldn't use it... they were right. Right until now! This global pandemic was a bit of an eye opener on taking care of self and making time for health. Gyms closed, commute gone, excuses over. I started using my HVT for the first time. I love it. I have been working out daily for over a month and I absolutely love the results! I can't believe I left this gem alone for so long! I am sad to see it unavailable on the .ca site, I have been telling everyone about it.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

I LOVE MY HVT!

I love this machine. I love being able to put together a workout with the items I want and have the machine time me through it. I am 5'5". I put together the machine myself. It was easy. Just follow the directions! I had to laugh when one woman said the display was bubbling up. That tells me that she didn't remove the protective plastic that is over the display! Just peel that clear protective plastic cover from the corner and you will see your fresh, crystal clear display with NO bubbles (smile)! Anyway, I love the workouts! I like the way you can set the workouts to really fatigue certain muscle groups. I also love the resistance levels. The build quality is solid, BUT you need to be careful and pay attention when you are putting it together. If you follow the directions and take your time, everything lines up. It took me about 2 hours to put it together because I was stopping and doing some other things, but the machine was easy to put together. The cables were solid and I never had any trouble with them. I will say that I wish the handle rests on the bottom of the machine were a little more pronounced. Sometimes when you are switching to another exercise and you rest those bottom handles on the small hooks, they will fall off if you are being vigorous with the upper handles and shaking the machine. To stop that, I had to just let the bottom handles rest on the base of the machine while switching to the handles for the upper body exercises. Also, please note that this machine is HEAVY with a capital H! Once you set it up, it is going to be wherever it is for the long haul. DO NOT try to move it a good distance by yourself! You might damage your machine or a wall. Overall, this machine is great and I would buy it again.

In 2017 I had major shoulder surgery and was told that I was done using heavy weights. So I brought HVT for me and my wife two years ago. Me and my wife both enjoy this machine. I use my HVT for both Cardio and strength training and back training with heavy weights. I still use my HVT for training. Oh by the way me and wife both are in are 50's and enjoying life staying in shape with our HVT.

Q

Is there a way to measure how much resistance this machine can do? For instance, if i used a chair and were doing lat pulldowns with the highest pulleys, what weight would the highest resistance be equal to?

Asked by Greg
Verified Reply - KendallHi Greg - The resistance on the Bowflex HVT cannot be equated to weight as it is not constant and will vary based on several factors. The HVT utilizes a dynamic resistance engine that uses both air and magnetic resistance to challenge you as you workout harder and/or faster. For example, it can be more challenging to use the HVT quickly at level 1 than it is to use the HVT slowly at level 2. In short, the harder you work, the harder the HVT works for you! - Bowflex TeamWas this answer helpful to you
