#1 Potato Head Singapore (Local Fusion Cuisine) - Sitting within one of the most iconic buildings in the heart of Chinatown, this restaurant is a cosy space for a date or an intimate gathering with your besties. Besides being known for their bespoke burgers, you can also expect a refreshing cocktail created to perfection by their bartenders. Serving up a fusion menu, there are also vegetarian options in their secret menu.

#2 Xiao Ya Tou (Local Fusion Cuisine) - Hidden among the Duxton area is a self-proclaimed “Little Rebel” who serves up modern Asian cuisine with a “naughty touch”. And they are surely living up to their claim with their Secret Suppers menu that includes innovative local creations like You Tiao Bruschetta and a dessert aptly named Jia Jia & Kai Kai. You can even wash down this meal with a glass of French Wine that comes together.

#3 Beng Who Cooks (Local Fusion Cuisine) - This restaurant is founded by two hawker heroes who found fame during the Circuit Breaker by providing free meals to anyone who needed one. No questions asked. Now, they have realised their dreams of opening a restaurant, serving up delicious bowls for lunch, and even an omakase-styled menu for dinner. Most importantly, every dish has a story behind it and is prepared with lots of love. Try it to believe it.

#4 Meatsmith Telok Ayer (American Cuisine) - This is one of Singapore’s highly-sought after restaurants when it comes to smoked meats and American BBQ. Their secret to putting out plate after plate of juicy, tender, and smokey meats is a custom-built giant Southern Pride Smoker right in their restaurant. If you still haven’t already figured it out, they’ve got one more hint for you: A Chinese temple and an Indian-Muslim shrine can be found along the same street. Go figure!

#5 Spring Court (Local Chinese Cuisine) - This restaurant is Singapore's oldest family-run restaurant and is a household name for Chinese banquets and celebrating joyous occasions with family and friends. For Secret Suppers, the chef has curated a six-course dinner that even includes a decadent Homemade Tofu topped with 10 Headed Whole Abalone. Wow.

Restaurants in Joo Chiat / Katong
#6 1925 Brewing Co. (Local Fusion Cuisine) - Fans of craft beers, this restaurant is definitely for you. Besides serving up fresh brews right from their microbrewery, they’ll delight you with their modern take of Teochew cuisine. And here’s the good news beer fans have been waiting for, your meal comes paired with one house brand craft beer and a surprise seasonal beer!

#7 Rumah Bebe (Peranakan) - No visit to Joo Chiat is complete without filling yourself up with delicious Peranakan cuisine. The chef will be serving up their signature Peranakan dishes that include the hearty Nasi Ulam, a classic Nyonya rice dish, which will pair well with their short rib beef rendang. #8 Sinpopo (Local Cuisine) - Located in the heart of Joo Chiat is a cafe-like restaurant that is highly Instagrammable thanks to its perfect balance of modern and rustic charm. Just like its deco, this restaurant also prides itself on its celebration of Peranakan cuisine by providing a modern twist to it, yet retaining its authenticity. For Secret Suppers, they’ll be serving up an off-menu Bakar Platter - a delicious plate of local-inspired BBQ. Yums!

#9 Quentin's (Eurasian Cuisine) - If there’s one highlight about the Joo Chiat area, it’s the harmonious marrying up of cultures. And this restaurant has been doing just that, serving up hearty Eurasian fare that’s the perfect fusion of Portuguese recipes with our local spices. The chef has put together a menu of his signature dishes that he learnt from his grandparents. It’s going to be a homely affair for Eurasian food is all about family.
