Tasting notes on the wine:

"If you ever wondered what yuzu juice would be if it were made into a wine, you needn’t look further. Hild’s rendition of these rescued old elbling vines offers just that: pleasantly aromatic and bursting with notes of yuzu and Meyer lemon with that familiar acidity in the background. Because elbling is such a focused variety in terms of flavor, it’s really a wine that supports the dish in front of it from the get go. Long story short, it’s a wine for drinking (a lot of).” — Jhonel Faelnar

About the winemaker:

“The distinctive terraced vineyards of the Upper Mosel are something I certainly want to see in person. Germany boasts some of the greatest riesling on the planet, yet also fosters a myriad of other grape varieties that rarely get the spotlight. Enter elbling, the acid-driven white with the same punk rock attitude as riesling sans the tropical fruit. And Matthias Hild is the man responsible for some (really, all) of the great elblings I’ve had in the last couple of years." — Jhonel Faelnar
