A/W 2021 Upcycled Down™

A mindful approach to design and production processes is at the heart of everything we do. Upcycling is to create something new from discarded goods – a creative and innovative solution that reduces the use of raw materials. It is a logical and necessary step towards a more responsible clothing industry, and it is one of the founding missions we took on when building our brand.

The Upcycled Down™ program was launched with the mission to offer superior-quality down jackets made from pre-used materials. To do so, we are using recycled down supplied by Re:Down which is based in Hungary and France. At their plant, pre-used down and feathers are collected from discarded clothing, sleeping bags and bedding products, then washed and sterilised at high temperature in thermal water without using chemicals.

The result is an outerwear collection made entirely from recycled materials, including the shells and linings. The first ARKET Upcycled Down™ collection was introduced in 2018: a line of jackets, coats and accessories suited for the coldest days of autumn and winter, without compromising on functionality or style. Since then, we have refined our collections year after year.

The first drop of the collection has just arrived in our stores and at arket.com, and we'll be continuously restocking the range throughout the season.
