An All Time Great Assassins Game
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Definitely one of the best Assassins Creed games! The pirate setting, getting your own pirate ship and hoping from island to island is a lot of fun. The storyline is engaging with some very cool characters along the way. This is top tier Assassins Creed. Highly recommend checking it out.

This game is amazing, Simply amazing
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To say that AC felt like it was dragging on and on is an understatement. AC 3 had a chance to shine and it was anything but that. So I was going to skip AC 4 all together. The only reason I picked it up was it was a free game do to a promo, and it has been the one game I keep coming back to out of the games I got for my ps4. It is by far the best ps4 game I have played it is simple amazing, breath taking brilliant. Sailing around the world in my ship does not get old as the world is full of detail and life. Islands and shipwrecks are so much fun to dive into. I have sunk over 40 hours in the game and feel like there is a ton more to do. I have not even made it through 40% of the game. AC 4 is a must have without doubt the best game I have played on next generation, and a contenter for game of the year. I thought I would never touch an AC game I game glad I am wrong

Fantastic Addition in the Assassin's Creed Series
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was yet another excellent continuation of the Assassin's Creed series of games. The naval system in AC3 was a fun, new and fresh side-addition of the game - Black Flag took it even further, refining it and integrating it to be a main core part of the game. Naval combats were always fun, never felt like a chore and just were a plain blast. The locations in this tropical region all felt different, and it was nice to see a few big names here and there. The main storyline was well written and really involved you into the story - while the story back in the real world really worked well as well - even connecting with the Animus storyline. The scenery is gorgeous - especially being on the PS4 - making this a no-brainer to purchase for fans of the series.

Really Fun Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I definitely recommend this game to anyone that likes the open world concept games. I'm not a huge gamer anymore but I really enjoy playing this one. The controls are pretty easy to get a hang of quickly. I like the concept of being elusive and hidden to try to get past enemies instead of having to kill them all (of course you can do that too but I don't think that's the intent of the game). I love that you get a pirate ship and can have battles with other ships either for fun or to gain important things for upgrades to your own ship. You don't have to follow the storyline as you can just do your own thing and explore, which I really do like. Overall a great game!

Masterful Upgrade to a Stale Franchise
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.AC Games are AC games, right? Not with AC4. Yes, every AC game from II to III (including all the Ezio unnumbered games) were great, but the formula started to become stale. By ACIII you could tell exactly what you were getting and were rarely surprised. AC4 is totally different - feels a lot like a AAA modern version of Sid Meier's original "Pirates!" for the PC. You've got all the usual AC stuff there underneath (sneak, assassinate, etc) built around a free-form system whereby you have a boat and the Caribbean Sea to sail her by. Island hop between missions, engage in naval battles massively upgraded from AC III, board ships, manage your crew (sorta). Now instead of just running the rooftops, you are also sailing the seas. Not to mention the biggest upgrade is visuals and performance. There is no drab colonial America here - you've got the bright blues greens and yellows of the Caribbean, tropical islands, it looks great in 1080p (at least on the PS4, I know the Xbox One version is 720p or 900p or something like that). But the best part is performance - I've been playing for tens of hours now and I've hit neither a screen tear nor a frame drop. Seriously, this game holds a steady 30fps the entire time, even during demanding naval battles. It just looks and feels very fluid, which you can't say about a lot of games anymore (especially AC Unity- ugh). If you like Assassin's Creed- BUY THIS GAME NOW If you like but are burned out on AC - This game will probably bring you back into the fold If you hate the AC games but the idea of being a pirate sounds cool - I'd say it's worth a rental just to see if you like it *My only gripe is that with the conclusion of Desmond's story in AC3, Ubisoft isn't quite sure where to take the modern-day portion of their story. There is some modern-day stuff, and they are still playing with their Abstergo video game company stuff they started mentioning in previous handheld and multiplayer components, but so far it isn't very engaging and just appears to be some background filler while they figure out what they want to do with it (if anything at all, I know a lot of people don't seem to like the modern day stuff). Unfortunately, I do like the modern-day bookend story telling of the earlier games, but that seems to be on hold in earnest for the moment.

Awesome Game
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The game is awesome. Love the story and the open world. You can be a pirate and explore the seas, taking your prizes along the way. The gameplay is improved from previous ACs - I never could get into them. The graphics on PS4 are amazing. I played previously on Xbox360 and the graphics were great... until I saw it on PS4 (I'm sure Xbox one is similar). The extra detail in the next gen graphics are worth a rebuy (I did). Water on the deck, extra detail in the world, costumes, etc. Smoke from the cannons in the air, rain, etc. It's all great!

Better than I thought it would be
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not an Assassins Creed 1, 2 or 3 fan. I tried but could never get into them. I got this one because this one seemed to be the best out of the lackluster amount of PS4 launch titles. I am totally hooked on this game. It has far surpassed all my expectations. The graphics are top notch, the story has been pretty sweet and the boat action is awesome. I still have a couple issues with the controls, but I can look past them because this game is so good. Get it so you can play through it before Second Son is released!
