Public Transportation

Explore the city using our local bus service and you're sure to discover something that you wouldn't get to see on the usual tours! Whether you have a particular destination in mind or would just like to experience Reykjavík city like a local, using the local public transport service makes for an economical and interesting experience.

When it comes to public transportation (called Strætó in Icelandic) Reykjavík has an excellent bus system with regular services to and from all the city’s major towns and attractions. For information and access to their convenient destination planner and free travel app, visit strætó.is.

If you choose to explore Reykjavík by bus you might also want to consider investing in the Reykjavík City Card. The card gives you 24, 48 or 72 hours of unlimited travel on the city busses as well as admission to major attractions and discounts at shops and restaurants.

There is also a great website which has information on all public transportation offered in Reykjavík and Iceland.

You can travel by coach/bus to and from Keflavik Airport. The trip from the terminal to Reykjavík takes approximately 45 minutes.

On this site you will find your nearest location for your tour pick up / drop off.
