I used this winch one year..the next year the gears teeth were broken. I replaced them and on the first try the winch stopped working. My boat has a weight of 5500 lbs. and max load is supposed to be 11,500 lbs. I even used a double line. I would not recommend unless you have a smaller boat

not as advertized

I purchased a new Model 912 Marine Trailer Winch, What I go was a return defective winch(the Amazon return paper work was in the damaged/open box).  I mounted the winch on my trailer and it didn't work.  But because I need this I took the winch apart and repaired the damage electrical connector and got the unit to work
