Man Fatally Shoots 21-Year-Old Dallas Woman After Losing To Her In A Basketball Game

Asia Womack, a 21-year-old Dallas woman, is dead after she was allegedly shot by a friend who was upset after losing a basketball game. The shooting happened on Monday at a park near Womack’s home, Fox 4 News reports.

Womack’s family said the shooter first took his kids and his brother home after losing in a pickup game against the 21-year-old. He then came back to the park and allegedly shot Womack five times.

“But this is so senseless,” Pastor John Delley told Fox 4 News. “You become embarrassed basically because a female beat you in basketball.”

Andrea Womack said her daughter had a strong relationship with the shooter.

“This was supposed to be a friend of Asia’s. She’s eaten with the man,” the grieving mother told Fox 4 News. “She’s fed him, and he turned on her and killed her in a vicious way.”

Dallas police said they are reviewing footage from a store located near the park. No one is in custody at this time, police said.

“If you know where he is, where his whereabouts are, please turn him in,” Andrea said. “Help the family out. We’re hurting.”
