Yes, it's a 20lb liquid propane tank you could find at a typical tank exchange. 20lb would be the most common size available for BBQ use but there are a variety of other sizes that might suit your needs..

20 lb is standard for most grills and fits this one perfectly...

This grill is well made.   Two separate burners is nice for better control of heat.   Yes, it is a portable grill, but it works just as well as a stationary one which costs $300+

Pit Boss portable grill

Just turned it on for the first time and burned off the residue for half an hour as per the instructions, temperature reached 700 F. Really well made, bigger than I thought it would be, now with the price of meat and inflation I just need to start trapping squirrels so I can use it!!

It is huge! The igniter system is part of the burner control, simplifies lighting the burner, push in, turn counter-clockwise to high, release and it is lit! The burner is covered by 'Flame tamer' a piece of stainless steel bent at 90 degrees, dripping grease hits the 'Flame Tamer' and ignites to flames if you have the temperature too high. From turn on till 400 degrees took one and a half minutes! No more waiting 10 minutes with 4 burners at max before grilling! The Grill is made of 3/8 stainless steel round stock, no need to purchase a spare, this one should last 20 years plus. To add a quick connect to the propane hose too seconds.

Pit Boss has a winner that should last a life

Great BBQ!

We bought this for our camper. Compact, easy to store, and grills beautifully. This thing gets hot! We like to cook with lid closed, but it really helps to keep an eye on the temperature and raise the lid when needed to keep desired temperature.

Love it!

Much larger than expected.  Hefty quality materials used.  Completely assembled out of the box.  Expecting many years of service.  Very user friendly, and the heat is easily regulated.  First off the grill were a couple chicken leg quarters and potato wedges.  Cooked on a 1/4 size sheet pan which fits 1/2 the grill while the other 1/2 supplied the heat very evenly distributed.   If they make anything better I'm not interested.  The Pit Boss is perfect for my needs.  I'll be back with an update when I cook direct on the heafty Stainless Steel cooking grate.  Happy Grilling

i like this grill because of the looks. i am having problem with over heating. my grill does not stay in 350 which i need for meat bbq. i put both burner on lower setting still it going up to 600. my old master chef bbq grill was so nice i never had this kind of overheating ussue.i moved thats why i left that one and buy this pitboss.if anyone having same issues like me?

five star for the grill

Great little barbecue.  We don't need a large one anymore.  This is the perfect size.  Good for the two of us but it can handle a larger group when needed.  Doesn't take up much room.  It also travels easily.

Perfect Portable

Im curently waiting on hold to speak with pitboss.  Its been 45 minutes so far and Im still on hold.  The grill broke shortly after the Wallmart return date.  Ive only had it a little over 3 months used approx. 10 times.  The controls all stopped working they just spin around. To use the grill you have to turn on the propane and light with a match.  You cant adjust the temp and you can only turn off by turning off the gas.,  I thought I had made a good buy because of their 5 year warrantee but if you cant get through to the company what good does it do,

DO NOT BUY - HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

This is a delightful grill to use, and we've enjoyed it for a few months. However, the handle is held onto the lid purely with friction in a small cavity where its pushed in. No bolt, no nut, not even a flared end. It broke within the first few months of ownership, and there's apparently no way to return it. This will be my first and last transaction with this website because of this return policy.

It looked promising, but it has some poor design flaws.
