Thank you for your question.  Before cleaning, make sure that your iron is unplugged and has completely cooled.  Wipe the soleplate and outer surface with a soft, damp cloth.  Water and small amounts of gentle household soaps, such as dishwashing liquid, can be used.  Never use heavy-duty cleaners, vinegar or abrasive scouring pads that may scratch or discolor the iron.  After the iron has been thoroughly dried, turn the iron back on and lightly steam over an old cloth.  This will help remove any reside left in the steam holes.  When finished cleaning, turn your iron off and allow time to cool before storing.

How can you clean the plate so it glides easier.  The plate does not look dirty at all, just does not glide like it use to.

I purchased this Black %26 Decker iron after the Rowenta iron I had purchased a year ago kept dripping all over my clothes. This Black %26 Decker iron far exceeds the iron I had! I was pleasantly surprised. It heats up quickly, and irons my garments nicely. I definitely recommend this iron.

Good iron

Can't go wrong with a Black and Decker.. love the brand and love this iron. Simply put the best bang for the buck. Works great. Heats up super fast and does what it should. I do like the little things like the alert when I forget it's on and the retractable cord.  The size is perfect for all that ironing we do.

Full size iron may not fit in an "wall installed" ironing board.  Excellent iron, I have on a cart in the laundry room.

The iron was larger than I expected. I chose it because the dial was on the top of the handle so my husband could see it more clearly. It seems to be working fine.

I got a used one? I'm pretty sure it's used because of the tank and light scratch marks. Doesn't look damaged. I haven't tried it out but if it works I guess I'll keep. I'm not sure how sending out used items work but I get it, if it works it works.

I was trying to save money by buying a cheaper iron, but you get what you pay for. It barely does anything even after waiting for it to heat up for a long time. It also LEAKS all over the place! The buttons barely work to spray and you have to press really hard to get them to work. I'm so sad cause it honestly looks pretty cool and is lightweight.

I am disappointed that the box even looked wrong. The plastic wrap in the iron was ripped, the iron had obviously been used. Water droplets in the water chamber. The iron plate with marks on it. WOW. I didn't choose to buy a used iron at a yard sale. I'm returning it today. The same day it was delivered.

I did like the cord reel that's retractable, however the iron plate is not smooth and the 
shut off when you stop using even for just a few seconds.  If you stop to move your garment , changing  to different side to iron, it shuts off.

Beware of Walmart orders. Received used and returned iron box from Walmart. I noticed water droplets inside the tank when I opened it.
