[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Husqvarna 128LD trimmer for almost four years now. Over this time this trimmer has been rock solid. I have the edger, pole saw, and mini tiller attachments for it and they've all been heavily used with no issues. I did have to adjust the L/H screws a little to get the carb set up a little better, but that's the only thing I've done to it except basic maintenance. While the 128LD is no pro model trimmer, it definitely holds its own with other like priced trimmers.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] bought this unit because i have a 130 model and am very happy with that one but i wanted a split shaft for attachment purposes. since it is basically the same unit i expect to be just as happy with it. after assembly put same fuel in it and started up on 2nd or 3rd pull, so far so good

Beast mode

I've had my 128LD trimmer for several years now.  What a tool!  I got the trimmer to retire my electric, and what a difference.  Straight shafts are far and away more ‘tool' then the curves and worth it.  The 128 has all the power needed for the regular edging chores and is light and manageable enough for touch up in the rock front yard without complete chaos (attention & patience mandatory).  I go through everything from Bermuda to sage grasses and any weeds the season brings with ease.  Easy maintenance, and repairs are DIY enough for basics.  I really love my Husqvarna 128LD.

Well Mannered WorkHorse

After numerous trimmers that barely lasted a year I finally found this one.  Tons of power and runs great.  First trimmer I've ever owned that actually idles correctly.

Finally a trimmer that works!!!

The last trimmer was a different brand and a four stroke with auxiliary starter ( so the wife could do the trimming:)).  It was total junk. I purchased the husky early this spring and it starts and works flawlessly.  I have seven acres and mow/trim about five. This thing eats through tall weeds, briars and other woody things without hesitation. I currently have a husky chainsaw almost 30 years old and it still runs perfectly. So I figured a trimmer should be a decent investment. I also bought a rider as well.  Lots of orange around the house.

So far so good

128LD is easy or start. Like the controls layout. My other brand had a choke lever that stuck out and I was constantly knocking it into choke position with my arm. 128LD folds in and out of the way in run position. Like the wide debris shield that keeps debris off my pants and shoes. My other brand had a narrow shield that allowed easy access to tight spaces, but left me filthy.  Only complaint thus far is the “tap and go” head. I have NEVER had a bump/auto  feed that worked on ANY weed eater. Besides, the bump feed leaves a big round gouge mark in the grass after you bump it.  Able to handle 1/3 acre easily with 1 - 2 line changes - no line winding spools or clips to worry about,  Do yourself a favor and buy an aftermarket head like the one pictured.  Husqvarna should seriously consider this style, probably cheaper and easier to manufacture than bump feed.  Also recommend using their premixed fuel, or at least a no-ethanol gas + oil.  You and the weed eater will appreciate it in the long run.  
So far so good - Only time will tell about durability, quality, reliability as time use goes by.

Easy Start

I couldn't agree with AdamGH83 more.  I bought the 128LD.  Great trimmer but I am so disappointed I cannot use it with the husq. hedge trimmer attachment.  I've got 15 foot hedges and was counting on the attachment.  Box says "Attachment Capable".  Seems a bit deceiving.

The only reason i give it 3 stars is because it smokes for no reason but other than that it works wonderful and lasted me 1 year so far i would recomend the product but the smoking gets annoying sometimes to elderly i own a lawn buisness and the people thinks it's going to explode!
