Cosy house, big and comfortable room, although there was really no view from our room on the ground level. The breakfast was simple but warm, and the host Jacqueline was very hospitable.

The sea view rooms are having the most gorgeous view during the day especially under the sun. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. The host is very friendly and trying to help us with everything.

One of most beautiful village in the world. It is just 2 hours plus away from Salzburg. You can plan a day trip. You will get best scenery and it is like childhood fairy tale place. I must praise I have a good dining experience in Simple 169. The owner is so friendly and food is good. Preferable if you can spend one night with light luggage. So that you can take photo with less crowded moment and take an unforgettable 7000 year old salt mine tour plus skywalk visit.

Loved the amazing views around Hallstatt.
Loved the amazing views around Hallstatt. The salt mine tour is definitely worth it. The views from above are just spectacular overlooking the mountains, town and the lake. Just strolling through the streets everything was so quaint and beautiful. A visit to the church and bone haus is a must its amazing to learn the history.

A beautiful enchanting fairy tale town.
A beautiful enchanting fairy tale town. Set on a lake framed by mountains.
It is very small easily done in a day or 2.
The food is delicious and reasonably priced
Salt mines worth doing 100% but give yourself a few hours as so much to see at the top!
Only down side shops and cafes open late … 10-10.30 am and close around 6.30-7 in the winter we got caught out with nowhere to eat or nothing to do in the evenings

A perfect place to visit with family.
A perfect place to visit with family.
Beautiful lake, landscapes views, snowy mountains and salt mine tour.
Hallstatt is really small and can be walked around comfortably.
Connectivity with Salzburg is easy by bug #150, 542 and 543 in around 2.5 hours.
Tip : Hallstatt old town is costly, relatively cheaper accommodation can be availed in nearby places like Obertraun.

Hallstatt is completely overrun by daytime tourists who just want the quintessential photo of the town. I could have had the same mountain lake experience by staying in a nearby town (and then not having to leave my car in P1 parking then being shuttled to the town).

WAY too many tourists!
WAY too many tourists! Hard to walk around and also find a spot to eat! One night is plenty! Gorgeous town though and easy to get around. A lot of day trippers that once their buses left, the crowds cleared out tremendously.
We loved staying at this hotel. It has the perfect location. It is very stylish, yet gives a rustic feeling. The room was large and the view divine! Lunch at the restaurant was excellent. Our waiter, Daniel, offered wine advice and his attention was professional and appreciated. The front desk staff were very informative and friendly. Breakfast was also exceptional. If you have the good fortune to be able to reserve a room at this hotel, it is the very best place to stay in Hallstatt.
The location is ideal—right in the center of town and right on the lake. We had booked a room with a view of the town and were delighted to be given instead a lakeside room with a balcony—a spectacular view! Some reviews complain about all the creaking but we didn’t mind—the building is 600 years old! We loved spending the morning on the balcony taking in the majestic view of the lake and mountains. We also loved the fantastic breakfast.
We chose Pepi’s because it was very close to the scenic part of Hallstatt (it’s ALL scenic) and within walking distance for my mom who has had recent strokes. Not only was Pepi’s right in the perfect spot, but also owned by the sweetest person in Austria! I felt like I was staying at my Tante’s house. This stay made me feel like a 12 year old girl in Europe all over again. MANY THANKS, Carola!!!
Staying at this hotel is an experience on its own and the location might be the best of all in the area.
There is a stunning terrace at the back of this beautiful buidling, overlooking the lake, where you can enjoy great dinner options or drinks.
The room was spacious and the mattress of very good quality.
This place (and for sure Hallstatt) definitely deserves at least a one-night stay.
From Tom the host to the wonderfully charming room to Hallstatt itself (during its one and only day of Christmas Market) this was a PERFECT way to end our 15 day Christmas Market tour in Bavaria and northern Austria! The location -- right in the market square - was PERFECT for enjoying the festivities. At the same time, our room was extremely quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel!
We made a short trip to Hallstatt and decided to book the Heritage hotel for its prefect location. We booked a superior double room, but received an upgrade to a suite on the top floor. The views to the lake and mountains were wonderful. We only stayed one night, but had both dinner and breakfast at the hotel restaurant which didn’t disappoint.
The property face to the lake. I feel really great to relax right beside the lake. The location is far from the center but you can walk. The owner of this hotel was really kind. She is really pleased to explain more thing not even than hotel but the hallstatt. The private parking is really convenient and it is difference from many hotel here.
Seewirt Zauner was the perfect hotel to stay in Hallstatt. the remodel combines modern luxury with traditional Alpine accents. the staff was so kind. The best sleep I had during my stay in Austria. The beds were extremely comfortable, and to be lulled to sleep with the sounds of water rushing by was perfect.
The location was great, a few minutes from the boats (with which you have to go to the train station) and just a few minutes from the main attractions, shops, restaurants, beautiful nature.
The hotel rooms and internal space are cozy, traditional and welcoming.
Super helpful and friendly staff.
I think this would probably be the best hotel on the ‘island’ of Hallstatt. The view, the cleanliness of the room, the staff, the breakfast , I mean everything. I really loved my experience there. The only problem is that they don’t accept children. I would love to take my son there. Awesome.
- The location of the property is great. It’s only a few meters in from where the bus stop is.
- The hotel is just few meters away from the Hallstatt funicular which takes to a viewing platform and Salzwelten Hallstatt above.
- The room was decent, had balcony with views of the mountains.
The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of Hallstatt. From the pier, you just have to walk 2 minutes to the hotel. The location brings great convenience to guests no matter where they want to go in the Hallstatt town. The room itself is spacious. Breakfast is good.
The best hotel in Hallstatt.
We enjoyed the lake view.
We also parked our car right next to the hotel.
We don't need to take a boat and carry the luggage for a long way.
I would recommend all my friends to stay in this hotel if anyone would visit Hallstatt.
The hotel is at the very heart of Hallstatt, but in a quiet corner, so you can enjoy birds singing in the morning. We had a very spacious room with two balconies, one of which was with a fantastic view of the town, lake and mountains.
It’s well-known Hallstatt is an expensive town. Yet, compared to other apartments or hotels in the area, Apartment Sophia is still the most practical to stay in. I think it’s an old house before, but it is clean and lovely furnished.
Loved the small boutique hotel, our room was fabulous, comfortable bed, great size bathroom, super clean and a wonderful breakfast. Great location too!! Would highly recommend.
