The Chris Christensen Big K brushes were originally designed to fit the specific needs of the Black Russian Terrier; however, it was soon discovered that the brush also worked for dozens of other breeds as well. Smooth results

This large brush works wonders for my Giant Schnauzer, it saves me so much time brushing him on a daily basis. Gentle on his skin & smooths his beautiful coat. I let my groomer use it and she loves it. I will be getting the smaller brush soon to use on his face & small areas. Thank you for this time saving brush.

Best brush for my Afghan Hound

I have a male Afghan Hound who has sensitive skin and hates being brused. My husband has to hold him on the grooming table while I do the brushing. For your 16.5 lb Mini Golden Doodle with thick, matting hair, we recommend size Medium or Baby. Medium size is ideal for all-over body grooming, making it versatile for larger areas. The Baby size is perfect for delicate areas like armpits and behind the ears. If you prefer to purchase only one brush, the Medium size would be the best choice as you can do everything with that brush. May this serve you well in your endeavors! A: Hello Holly, if your Golden Retriever has a a lot of undercoat we would recommend our Big S Slicker Brush in size Large (chrischristensen.com/chris-christensen-big-g-slicker-brushes). If your Golden doesn't have a lot of undercoat, we would recommend our Karben Slicker Brush in size Medium (chrischristensen.com/chris-christensen-karben-slicker-brushes) for your Golden Retriever. Since your dog's coat is 3-4 cm long we would recommend our Karben Slicker Brushes in size Small (chrischristensen.com/chris-christensen-karben-slicker-brushes). The 17mm pins are shorter than the 27mm pins of the Big K and will be better suited for your dog's coat length. May this serve you well in your endeavors! A: Hello Susan, the Big G and the Big K share many similarities (the length of their pins - both 27mm, same great ergonomic handle, same slicker pad) but where they differ is the density of the pins. The Big G has 30% more pins than the Big K. The Big K has less pins, making it great for dense coats. In situations where the Big G has too many pins to make it through the coat, we would recommend the Big K. In any case, we would recommend the Big G for a Shetland Sheepdog. The additional pins will help you with the profuse coat. May this serve you well in your endeavors!
