Q: Is there a way to add an additional AX Mini node (XD4N)? (1 answers)
A: My understanding is that you can add a compatible Asus brand Aimesh node or router. Asus is not selling individual AX Mini nodes yet (this is a new product), but I hope they will in the future. I think the system will be easier to install if I stick to the AX Mini nodes rather than buy a different Ai mesh router, so I would wait until they offer individual nodes.- A: Yes, I can confirm this too. I have one of the nodes in my office (with the router node downstairs), I have the node plugged into a little poe 4 port switch and my IP Phone for work connected to that. Everything connects just fine and I'm able to make calls from my office with no issues.
- A: Get a switch! This switch accepts a single Cat-5 cable input, and has 4 out ports. I bought mine from Best Buy, it's this model NETGEAR - 5-Port 10/100/1000 Mbps (Mega Bits Per Second) Gigabit Unmanaged Switch, and it works perfectly. Kind of misleading, 5 port really means 1 port in and 4 ports out. Nothing to do but power it up and plug in your cables. Voila' ! Here's the link: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/netgear-5-port-10-100-1000-mbps-gigabit-unmanaged-switch-white/6840341.p?skuId=6840341
- A: Not at this time. Asus has part numbers for single and twin pack satellites, but these items are not yet available for sale at Asus or any retailers.
- A: Yes, the ZenWIFI AX mini can be added to your ASUS router in order to extend your WIFI coverage, without problem.
- A: They do not have a seperate band for backhaul, meaning it's using the same 5Ghz channels for backhaul as it uses for client traffic. I am using Cat5 for backhaul with this setup, you may want to consider a triband setup that has a dedicated backhaul wifi separate from client channels if you can't run Cat5 for backhaul.
- A: This router will work with Netgear CM1200, keep in mind you would need to check whether or not the modem will work with your ISP.
