We would like to let you know that you do not need to use google to run this unit. This unit does not come with a remote. It can be connected to Wi-Fi to be able to connected to the Shark App. This robot can work without Wi-Fi. You would need to press the buttons located on the robot to get it to run, however you would not be able to use the app or any features of the unit that would require Wi-Fi. We recommend connecting it to Wi-Fi and pairing it with the Shark App to receive regular updates to the robot and the app. This will ensure that the robot is maintaining optimal performance. You will also be able to set up a cleaning schedule with the app.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum with Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping.  I have had it for a month and I have noticed a big difference on how well my floors stay clean.  It is simple to use and saves you tons of time.  You simply download the app, put on the sweeper arms, plug in the docking station, put the robot on the station, and charge it up.  You then name your robot. We called ours Jarvis.  You then can program and schedule the cleaning, the app is very easy to use and the set up is super easy, you do not have to be tech savvy at all with this machine.  You then hit the clean button on the app and the robot sweeps and vacuums up the dirt and maps out the room at the same time.  After it learns each room, you can just send it to an area to clean so if you want to clean up the bedroom and not the whole house just tell the robot to do it with the app.  When it is done or the battery needs charging it will go back to the docking station, dock, and the self empty base sucks out the dirt.  You only need to empty that out once a month.  The robot is safe for the floors and it does not bang into the walls or things which is a great feature.  I highly recommend the   Shark IQ Robot™ Vacuum with Self-Empty Base, Wi-Fi & Home Mapping, it keeps your floors clean and it is a must if you have a pet.

After purchasing a cheaper off brand version and loving the robotness of cleaning, I decided to get this for a few reasons.
1. It was almost half off..
2. No more bouncing! It actually maps your house and vacuums the way you would, row by row.
3. My previous other brand couldn't vacuum my floor before running out of battery or filling up. This has a larger battery and will self empty. Win Win

After using this for a week or so, here are more positives over cheaper brands:
- App is much easier to use and pair your robot
- Emptying the vacuum is easier. You don't do it on the robot itself, but its trash bin which is much easier.
- After its done, you can check and see where it vacuumed. Super helpful.
- Its quieter than my previous brand.

Overall i'm very happy with this product. My only concerns moving forward will be the suction/filters (previous sharks i've had always start choking and you have to replace these WAY too often in my opinion) the battery, because they always get worse over time and finally Shark Customer Support. They unfortunately are super hit and miss. After my Rocket needed a new head, it took me many transfers to even get someone who could help, and even though i was within the warranty, the part I needed replaced wasn't "covered" because why would it right? Its only a part of the vacuum... But they gave me a discount (which is their way of saying yeah we misled you, but here take this as a peace offering). So if that happens here, I hope it's not expensive to fix.

Much needed upgrade from previous off brands

I purchased this because I have two dogs, a husband that works in construction, and a 16 year old son who has no idea what it means to wipe his feet before entering the house. 

I have about 700 sq ft of hard surface flooring on the bottom floor of my house. Before Sharkey entered my life, I would have to change my mop water 5-6 times AFTER I gave it a good vacuum first. No matter what I did, I could not keep up with the dog hair and dirt. Enter Sharkey… 

I schedule him to to make a run every morning at 9:00 after we all leave for the day. I have it set up with the app on my phone. The app is VERY user friendly and easy to understand. It was very easy for me to get everything set up and connected the first time. 

It takes him about an hour and a half to go over my living room/kitchen/dining area. He has to empty once (on average) in that time frame. I love checking the app to see where he is, what he's up to, what he did all day. I usually let him rest for a few hours and then I will manually turn him on again about 3:30 in the afternoon. The app only allows you to schedule one run a day but you can go on there anytime and have it run again. I also tend to select ‘max clean' for the afternoon run. Now that Sharkey helps me with keeping the dirt at a minimum, I only have to change my mop water once when I clean. I can even tell a difference in how my house smells on the daily!  

The ‘trash box' on the base holds a LOT of dog hair and red clay dirt. I'm thankful for this! I empty it about once a week and I could honestly go longer between dumps. I did have a little trouble at first figuring out exactly how to dump it, but once I figured out the release buttons it became second nature. 

If he gets tired, he will go to his base and grab a recharging nap. A little recharge is good for anybody! Once he has regained his strength, he's right back on the job. Never letting up until he is satisfied that everything is clean. 

My favorite thing about Sharkey is that he creates a methodical pattern to do his work. He's not just running around all willy-nilly with no rhyme or reason. The old robot vacuums that did not have mapping technology would just wander around aimlessly and may never even get to that pesky spot under the kitchen table. Not Sharkey! He runs in straight lines and if he does bump up against something, he will wiggle his way around it, sucking up every little thing that is around the edges of that object. He just amazes me!

If I need to restrict Sharkey from going into a certain area, for example my Christmas Tree, I simply put down a few strips of BotBoundary tape and he will avoid that area like my son avoids hard work. I am simply amazed at the quality of work this little guy will put out. He is meticulous!

Sharkey is quite possibly my most favorite male figure living under my roof when it comes to cleaning. Who am I kidding??  He is the ONLY one here that will help me with the cleaning and not talk back or argue about it.

Why did I wait so long to start this relationship?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Shark IQ Robot vacuum is amazing! I have 3 cats and 1 Pit bull with skin allergies in my home. Needless to say I have to vacuum every 2 days and me with a bad shoulder. So this device is a lifesaver in my house especially with the app on my phone I can control it from my recliner! Not to mention the app features such as scheduling a time for it to begin vacuuming! The Wi-Fi and home mapping is just such a bonus, and when it gets full, it returns to base and self empties the debri (or in my case pet hair/fur) and resumes on vacuuming. I have hardwood floors and rugs, which the Shark's performance on these surfaces handles nicely. I believe the quality and value for this Shark robot vacuum is exceptional and I'm loving having this help me with my chores because it's a time saver!

I absolutely love this vacuum!

This robot is fantastic for getting the majority of the debris around your house daily. However, you will need an upright to really deep clean the carpets (such as Shark's own Vertex). This little guy was very easy to setup and he was out cleaning within 30 minutes. I love that the self empty bin is bag less! No need to hassle with changing out bags. I recommend, as I read from the reviews here, to run the vacuum on Eco the first few times to get a good map of your home. And yes, leave the lights on, it really does help. I have a map of my downstairs, but I do bring the robot upstairs to clean as well, and I haven't encountered any issues (note that you must control the robot via the buttons on top not via the app when it's not on the same level as the dock). The anti-tangle brushroll has been great so far to avoid the nasty hairwrap. Also, when I empty the dustbin there's a decent amount of dust in there so the brushroll must be engaging the carpet as well. I like that the side brushes spin at a slow rate to avoid scattering debris. The only thing I would say is perhaps make them a bit longer to really get into corners, especially on hard floors. The robot has had no issues locating the dock when complete or running low on battery. My home is smaller than 1,000 sq feet so as per Shark I have turned off recharge and resume and empty and resume as well and the robot does the entire first level without any issues. The robot can be determined to climb thresholds so be mindful of that. I'm very happy with this product and would highly recommend to others. I send out the robot daily and feel it does a decent enough job that I'm happy with it. Usually I would personally vacuum the entire house almost daily with an upright, now I do that just once a week.

Great for basic cleaning!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this Shark robot for a couple weeks now. Let me just say it is a game changer for me! I have had 3 others that cannot touch how amazing this one is! I was easily guide with the app.on my smartphone. It connects to my WIFI and you can map out the area you want to clean as well as what time. The self emptying is the BEST ever! It knows when it's full, goes to the base and empties itself then continues on! It is a very quiet robot and that's a plus. The emptying is a little noisy but well worth it! I have two dogs and grandkids running around and this absolutely picks up all the dirt and pet hair. The roller is amazing as it keeps hair from twisting around the roller. I have equal hardware and carpet and it moves easily to each area. The cleaning is equally exceptional. You can also use the app to see where it is at or if it managed to get stuck behind a door or something it is simple as that. I love everything about this robot and the performance is powerful! It is high quality and seems very durable to. It also has spinning side brushes to pick up against a wall.The smart mapping feature seems to work well and efficiently. I highly recommend this robot it does not disappoint!

 I received my Shark IQ Robot Vacuum RV100S with Self-Empty Base, WiFi & Home Mapping about 1 month ago. The setup of the Shark IQ Robot vacuum is easy. I downloaded the shark app and followed the instructions step by step. The robot first learns the house, then creates a map of it.

PERFORMANCE:
The Robot exceeds my expectation, it works great on different types of floors and carpet. It comes with a rubber tape that serves as its boundary. If there is a place that I don't want the robot to travel to, I just place the rubber tape to prevent it from going there. It cleans hard to reach places like under the sofas, the bed, etc.

DESIGN: The robot has a slick design, not bulky, very compact, lightweight, it suits any area of the home.

FEATURES: The Robot comes with three different modes to choose from. The eco mode is the quietest, the normal mode it's just normal, and max mode cleans faster but louder. I can create rooms from the created map, then choose which room I wish for it to vacuum or schedule it to vacuum at a later time. It cleans very well, the most fantastic part about the robot vacuum is it cleans until its battery is at 25%, then it returns to the dock to charge. The Robot automatically resumes cleaning where it last stopped. When it is done, it empties itself at the dock. In the app, you can see the cleaning history, and when the Robot encounters any obstacle it sends you a notification.
 
 VALUE:
With the business of life, I do not have to worry about vacuuming or emptying the dock every day because it holds the debris for up to 30 days. Overall, I would say The Robot is a must-have.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been dying to get my hands on this Shark IQ Robot Vacuum that self empties, and maps my home.  And I gotta tell you, it's even better than I expected.  Reliable, effortless, and app controlled, I am a huge fan!

Owning other products by Shark, and loving each one of them, I was confident pulling the trigger on the Robot Vacuum, and true to its name, it does a great job keeping both my carpet and hard surfaces clean.  I am surprised by how much debris it collects every time.  

It works exactingly, keeping a tight pattern that doesn't leave any area neglected.  It moves back and forth, progressing across the room.  When full it reruns to the base and dumps out, then returns to the task at hand.  

It isn't necessarily quiet, nor loud, so you won't forget it's working, but it doesn't drown you out. I would categorize the volume as reasonable.

The app is simple to use, and the IQ Robot maps as it cleans.  You can then see the map in app and label the spaces.  Once labeled, you can send the Shark to a particular space if you don't want it to clean the whole house.  You can also assign it to clean at particular times and days, so if you want to come home to a freshly vacuumed house without having it underfoot, that's easily possible.

It takes a few hours to charge, but that isn't any issue as you can program it to clean at particular times and areas, and it will get the job done, and done well.

The only nitpick I have is that the black exterior collects a lot of lint, so it needs a good wipe down (if the appearance of the vacuum bothers you).  Obviously this doesn't affect performance, so it's a quite retentive, silly criticism.

Overall I adore this Shark IQ Vacuum, and it does the Shark name proud.  I very highly recommend!

Another great product from Shark!

We have been using this IQ for about 3 months. EVERYDAY it will get stuck at various locations when going from hardwood to a rug. The throw rugs are not very thick but the IQ fails to continue when it gets to certain transitions.

Fails when encountering rugs

First day with the product and after a full nights charge and a few incomplete cleaning runs (it runs out of battery before completing the floor map, and then appears to start over from the start again) I now keep getting a "Error Number 2", where it asks me to clear the underside of the robot.  But on turning over and inspecting the underside I can see no obstacle or anything that requires clearing.
