Which unit is right for your room?

Different Air Conditioners cool different size rooms.

We've put together an easy to use calculator so you know which Air Conditioner is right for you! It will tell you the amount of BTU's your Air Conditioner requires to cool your office or room.

How to Use the Calculator

Room Size - Enter your room dimensions in Metres.
Heat Sources - Enter the number of people and computers in the space you are cooling. Please enter zero if none are present in the room.
Calculate - Now click Calculate and you will receive details of how many BTUs of cooling are required for your room.

BTU Information

A BTU (British Thermal Unit) is a rating used to determine the heating or in the case of an Air Conditioner the cooling capacity of an appliance.

1 BTU is the amount of heat required to raise the temperature of one pound of liquid water by one degree from 60° to 61° Fahrenheit at a constant pressure of one atmosphere.

As a general rule we advise you to buy an Air Conditioner with a minimum 7000BTUs as this is the minimum required to call a small room (18sq/m) on a hot day. Medium rooms (24sq/m) need around 10,000BTUs and larger rooms and office spaces (36sq/m) require around 15000BTUs.

Two or more Air Conditioners may be used together if your requirements are over 15,000BTUs.
