Newsboys have released 17 albums over the last 18 years, six of which have gone certified gold. Their 2011 release entitled God's Not Dead produced two number one singles on the Christian CHR charts; "God's Not Dead (Like A Lion)" and "Your Love Never Fails." Newsboys fans order their tickets far in advance, anticipating the live concert experience the band is famous for. Audience participation ensues in the way of roaring sing-alongs and massive back and forth sway-alongs that are described as "powerful," "uplifting" and "affirming." The band tours extensively in an effort to reach out to all of their fans. After the September 2013 release of their latest album Restart, the band hit the road on a trip through 31 North American cities.
The band was founded in 1985 and fronted by John James until 1996, when Peter Fuhrler took over as singer until 2009. Michael Tait, the former singer of dc Talk is currently holding down vocal duties in what many are calling the band's most powerful lineup yet. Newsboys were first recognized by the Christian Rock world when they released their fourth studio album Not Ashamed. Their fifth album, Going Public won Dove award for Rock Album of the Year while the standout single "Shine" won a Dove Award for Rock Recorded Song of the Year. Their highest charting release came along in 2010, when their album Born Again debuted at number four on the Billboard Top 200. The band shows no signs of slowing down on their quest to spread their message, with a tour of over 58 cities set for 2014.
The newsboys concerts are not only entertaining, with Duncan Phillips on his drums, turning sideways, but their message is for everyone. The songs always have a positive message to the young as well as the old. They are classic.
We had decent seats for the show. I especially liked that they sang some songs from Michael tates old band DC talk.
The newsboys have been my number one band for a very long time! I have seen them twice this year now. There very good at making people feel uplifted!
Newsboys provide awesome entertainment, the best message that the world needs to hear. They share their stories and connect with the audience. And Duncan on the drums is a show by himself. Cant wait for the next tour to start!

This was an incredible concert. The Band sounds better than ever! It was nice to worship the Lord at a concert. I highly recommend this band.

The Newsboys are an exceptionally talented group of Christian artists. Lead singer Michael Tait (formerly of DC Talk) has a lively personality and engages the audience. The drummer really gets into the beat & plays from unimaginable angles, high above the stage. It was a fun, worshipful night!
This was by far the best Christian concert we've ever gone to. Knoxville was the last concert in the tour, and they went all out to bring us a concert that was unforgettable. the concert lasted for a little over 2.5 hours, and I think they covered every song they have ever produced. Watching the group interact with the audience was not just entertaining, but it was welcomed by all that were there. I recommend going to any NewsBoyz concert you have the opportunity to go to. 100% awesome!
