Chore jackets were CREATED FOR REAL LIFE and traditionally employed durable and hardwearing materials: in this case, it’s a 100% dry oil wax designed to take rain showers in its stride. Wax coating is a natural, highly effective way of providing water resistance.

Perhaps a chore by name but still a pleasure to wear, the design was conceived in the early 20th century as a practical everyday workwear jacket. Although the nature of the chores has changed over time (think less tilling the fields and more designing the web), its key design DNA is still going strong. As such, we’ve gone for the classic button closure here rather a zip, with mock horn buttons.

For the collar and cuffs, soft brown corduroy prevents rubbing or chafing and quietly complements the navy cotton. We've added two patch pockets and inside the jacket is fully lined with tartan and diamond-quilted for warmth. Really, it's a Chore but no bother - we've loved making this jacket as good as it can be.
