A: If you have the "sidetone" on, more background noise will creep in, and regardless of any settings, on ALL brands of earbuds, when you start speaking, and the mics are activated to pick up your voice, those same mics will also pick up background noise. Its inevitable. Years ago 20+, we had Motorola Radios with "jawbone" technology so we could speak using sensors that detected the vibrations ONLY from our speech, with a special sensor attached near our throat, and thus all of the screaming noise from the jet aircraft, was eliminated. The Elite 7 Pros use similair technology. The ANC on the 4's, or others for that matter, will not, cannot, completely eliminate, outside background noise like it does when you have music playing etc, This is due to the fact, while you are on a call, the external microphones get activated so you can talk, or TRANSMIT out, unlike in music mode, where the mics are not transmitting. Companies are constantly trying to make things better, and have been improving for years, but no mfr has perfected it yet. Note, the Jabras, as far as call quality and background noise supression is concerned, are still top of the line, even better than the Sony 1000's, etc, (though the Sony's ANC is class leading like Bose, while in music mode, etc). The only way to get further background noise reduction, while on a call, is to go with the upper level Elite 7 Pro, and probably leave your sidetone off as well. But understand, the call quality on the other end, as far as them hearing you, will be compromised to some degree, the more it tries to suppress or eliminate outside noise from the call, as the mics turn on and off in an effort to eliminate and reduce background interference. Your BEST BET, move to a QUIETER place while on calls...!
Q: Are these waterproof? I’m a swimmer.
A: Per the Jabra website, for the Active 4's states, "Your Jabra earbuds have an IP57 rating which indicates they are protected against dust and the effects of temporary submersion in water. The submersion test requires 30 minutes at a depth of 1m/3ft." With that said, you have to remember when jumping into water, or swimming in it, much HIGHER PRESSURES of water are exerted on the earbuds, due to the movement, than just sitting statically in still, non-moving water, at 3ft. Swimming in IP57 Rated earbuds would not be recommended for any mfr, none. You would need a true "Waterproof" rating of 100ft or more, and would still not be able to exceed the pressures exerted by a column of 100ft of water. Imagine diving off a high dive with a 100ft rated waterproof watch, when the watch hits the water, almost for certain, the rated 100ft psi will be exceeded, and water will enter the watch! Do not swim in these or any other IP57 rated buds, or, do so at your own risk. You could try a rubber cap over them when you swim to alleviate some pressures by moving water, and may be able to get away with it, for awhile, but they are simply not designed for swimming, if they were, it would be front page advertising :)

Q: Can we mute/unmute with touch of a hand while away from the laptop?
A: Hello Feature - Thank you for your interest in the Jabra Elite 4 Active. To mute/unmute the microphone during a call, press the Left or the Right button. In mono earbud mode, press the button of the earbud you are using to mute/unmute the microphone. The Jabra Elite 4 Active is not compatible with a PC or laptop so full functionality is not guaranteed when connected to such device. - Dwayne

While many of our users have found success pairing their devices to their TVs, we do not officially support this. For this reason, we cannot guarantee device performance or provide support for performance challenges that may result. We are very sorry for any potential inconvenience.
Q: Do these buds have wireless hook-up to my computer?
A: Yes, if you PC if your PC is Bluetooth capable. I use these on both by office desktop PC and field laptop.
Q: Will these do well, say, if I am outside on a riding mower? Will I still be able to hear my music?
A: Yes, I run equipment all day long and can hear my music perfectly. Phone calls also are heard well.
Q: Are these fully waterproof for running in rainy conditions?
A: In my experience they are for a while, but I'm on pair number three and I think it's sweat (and possibly rain) that keeps killing them. Customer service is great though.
