Bought these to replace a pair of 6 year old Bose QC35's. They are still going, but the battery is just starting to lose their charge on those.
I wanted to stay in the Apple ecosystem as I already own the AirPod Pros; love the super easy connection to Apple devices. The switching between devices is very good which is what I wanted.
They are high quality build as you would expect from Apple. The noice cancellation is as good as you would expect from wireless headphones of this calibre. Just as good as the QC35's; cannot compare to Sony's headphones which I hear are amazing as well.
I tend to keep these charged quite often so I cannot speak to the length of a charge. I dont use these very heavily; mostly late at night for a few hours watching TV, listening to music on my Mac when others have gone to bed, a bit more on the weekend. Maybe about a week or so using these that much. With heavy daily use it would be much more often obviously.
So, the price of these; even Amazon selling for a bit of a cheaper price puts these at a high entry price. I would argue the QC35's are probably better value for money if you are getting a first pair of quality wireless headphones.
At the price these go for, its purely for the the Apple aesthetic, the connection to other Apple devices across an eco-system. They really feel more like a guilty pleasure purchase for sure; the sound from the QC35's I have were just as good in many ways. I am not an audiophile by any stretch though, I just know they both sound good.
Also the QC35's did not seem as tight to wear and the cushioning on the cups on those were just like a pillow. You could forget you were wearing those, AirPods Max are definitely heavier and a bit tighter fit, but still quite comfortable even for hours of use.
Most novice headphone fans will likely get better value with other cheaper cans. If you like the look of these specifically, if you LOVE Apple products, are deep in their ecosystem and have multiple Apple devices that you switch between, then these might be worth the extra cost. They look and sound amazing and I am loving them a lot.

Love the Apple AirPods Max!
It’s definitely pricey but I think its worth it. I have the Bose over the head noise cancellation headphones and I was happy with that but after I purchased the AirPods Max, I could tell a huge difference between them, it’s definitely a major upgrade. The sound is amazing! The weight was an issue for me at the beginning but I got used to it. It also gave me a headache cause it was pressing down on the side of my head but if you slightly stretch it and open the sides when putting it on, it will help. Overall, like all Apple products, it never ceases to amaze me.

So glad that i bumped to Amazon App and saw this in discounted price! I was hesitant at first as i still like my 4 year old bose qc35. Im happy that I was able to convince myself to purchase it. The noise cancellation is good but yet to try on plane travelling(so soon!). I dont put my expectation high but hopefully it exceeds as my purpose of purchasing noise cancellation headset is mainly for travelling companion. Overall, i like the design( and sky blue color!) though there is a bit of weight when wearing it. Battery is fine even if there is no off/on function, received it with 83% and atm, it still 43% for 3rd day with 3-4 hrs use every day.stranger2alllike it!
