Amd Advantage Edition Legion Slim 7
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Title: Comprehensive Professional Review: Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition with Ryzen 9 Processor and GPU Introduction: The Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition laptop is a remarkable addition to the Legion series, designed for high-performance gaming and professional tasks. Packed with cutting-edge hardware, including the powerful Ryzen 9 processor and dedicated GPU, this laptop offers an exceptional gaming experience while maintaining a sleek and portable design. In this detailed review, we will delve into every aspect of the laptop, exploring its features, performance, display quality, battery life, and more. Design and Build Quality: The Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition showcases a sleek and slim design, embodying elegance and portability. The laptop's aluminum chassis exudes durability, while the minimalist aesthetics lend it a professional and sophisticated look. With a weight of just under 4 pounds (1.8kg) and a thickness of 0.63 inches (15.9mm), it is impressively slim and light, making it easy to carry around without sacrificing performance. Display Quality: The laptop boasts a 15.6-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, delivering crisp and vibrant visuals. The high refresh rate of 165Hz ensures smooth gameplay and fluid motion, enhancing the gaming experience. The display also supports Dolby Vision for exceptional color accuracy and HDR for improved contrast. The slim bezels further enhance the immersive feel, providing a larger screen-to-body ratio. Performance: Equipped with the mighty AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX processor and an integrated Radeon GPU, the Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition offers exceptional performance across various tasks. The 8-core, 16-thread processor delivers remarkable processing power, capable of handling demanding applications and multitasking with ease. Paired with the Radeon graphics, this laptop is a gaming powerhouse, capable of running the latest titles at high settings. The laptop's 16GB or 32GB RAM options provide ample memory for smooth multitasking and speedy performance. Thermal Management: The laptop employs an advanced cooling system, utilizing a combination of heat pipes, vapor chambers, and dual fans to dissipate heat efficiently. Lenovo's Coldfront 3.0 thermal management ensures that the laptop stays cool even during extended gaming sessions, preventing performance throttling and maintaining optimal performance. Keyboard and Trackpad: The keyboard on the Legion Slim 7 offers a satisfying typing experience, with well-spaced keys, adequate key travel, and per-key RGB backlighting. The trackpad is accurate and responsive, providing smooth navigation. The inclusion of dedicated media keys is a thoughtful addition, enhancing convenience during multimedia consumption. Connectivity and Ports: The Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition features a generous selection of ports, including three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, one USB-C Thunderbolt 4 port, an HDMI 2.1 port, and a 3.5mm headphone/microphone combo jack. The Thunderbolt 4 port enables high-speed data transfer and supports external displays, making it convenient for professionals working with multiple peripherals. Battery Life: Despite its powerful hardware, the laptop offers respectable battery life. With a 71Whr battery, it can provide up to 7-8 hours of moderate usage, making it suitable for productivity tasks and light gaming on the go. However, extensive gaming sessions will drain the battery quickly, as expected from a high-performance gaming laptop. Audio Quality: The Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition features a 2W Dolby Atmos speaker system, delivering immersive audio with enhanced spatialization. The speakers produce clear and balanced sound, suitable for gaming, multimedia consumption, and video conferences. However, for a truly immersive audio experience, external speakers or headphones are recommended. Software and Customization: Lenovo Vantage software provides extensive control over system settings, allowing users to customize performance modes, optimize battery life, and update drivers easily. The software also offers a range of gaming features, such as network optimization, system monitoring, and RGB lighting control, enhancing the overall gaming experience. Conclusion: The Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition laptop impresses with its sleek design, high-performance hardware, and exceptional gaming capabilities. The Ryzen 9 processor and Radeon GPU deliver outstanding performance, making it a top choice for gamers and professionals seeking power and portability. With its impressive display, solid build quality, and thoughtful features, this laptop offers an immersive and productive experience. However, the battery life may not meet the demands of extensive gaming sessions. Overall, the Legion Slim 7 AMD Advantage Edition is a commendable choice for those who prioritize performance, style, and versatility.

Classy hot rod of a system. Light-weight. A++++++
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent Laptop/PC. I've been building systems since the old 386/486's with both Intel and AMD so this isn't my first rodeo, so-to-speak. This machine looks great and performs off the charts. Will play videos, while you play games (not that you need it to), and have two different browsers open with over 30 tabs! Streams video capture and editing software, eLearning software, screen capture, etc, with ease. Great lighting effects. A real screamer that's classy at the same time. Light weight. Battery life not so great with everything activated, but when some of the extras are turned off, pretty decent for a hot rod. Would definitely recommend. Lenovo's warranty plans are great too. The 6800 performs top-notch. Easily runs two screens with a very high resolution (2560x1440). Thanks Lenovo for a great system.

Runs as good as my desktop
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Functions perfect for my gaming needs. I play Wrath of the Lich King Classic World of Warcraft (often with two accounts open at same time), discord streaming, second monitor connected and I have not had any performance issues. I did notice some of the AMD software gets over shadowed by windows updates. So a quick visit to AMD website for the drivers after windows updates are done fixes any overwrite.

Here's why you should and shouldn't get this
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recommend this laptop if you are want these features: 1. Something that can run most games above 60 FPS at 1440P. You are not looking for the best gaming laptop but a good balance of gaming and productivity. 2. A battery life of 7+ hours. Heck you can buy the 99mWh battery and extend this to 10+ hours even. This is all due to the 6th Gen AMD CPUs, don't expect anything closer from the intel counterparts. 3. You spend time on productivity tasks like using MS office or browsing web where a 16:10 aspect ratio is helpful. 4. You enjoy high refresh rate so this 165hz screen is a great for a laptop. If you want anything higher, it probably makes more sense to hook it up to a high refresh monitor. 5. You are like instant shortcuts for things like changing refresh rate and changing performance profile. This may sound trivial, but it makes a big difference when all you gotta do is press FN+R to change from 60 to 165hz and vice versa. Also, the LED indicator on the power button tells you which power profile you are on, its a great feature. 6. You like the convenience of turning on your computer with a press of power button and the press also registers your fingerprints to log you in right away. I never thought I would love this feature so much as I do now, it has become an essential. I turn on the machine and go get water for me so that when I am back, I find the machine logged in and ready for use. 7. You want a device that can cool the processor and GPU well. This chassis is decent for both balanced and turbo profiles offered. The 6900HX and 6800S are great for most tasks. 8. You want a great webcam because 720p doesn't belong in 2023. This 1080p camera is amazing for video calls and was one of the reasons I went with this laptop. There is also a privacy switch if you want it. 9. You want the most screen and keyboard for least amount of space. The 16" screen has amazingly thing bezzels and I just love the num pad. The touchpad is on the larger side and I have no complains about it. 10. You like having ports in the back of the laptop. The charging port, HDMI, and USB A ports are all on the back which makes wire management easier. There are 2 USB C ports (not thunderbolt), both with display out support (one from integrated GPU and other with the dedicated). One of the USB C also allows charging. Not to forget, there is an option for rapid charging with the lenovo's charger. Unexpectedly, I have been using that a lot. 11. Lenovo has got cheap warranty extension program. I compare this to Dell where it cost about 200-300 for premium warranty every year. 12. You want to be able to upgrade the SSD or RAM in the future. There is one upgradable slot for each which is not the best case but does let you switch it up if you want to. Now here are some reasons you shouldn't get it: 1. You want the lightest laptop for the performance. I will point you towards the asus G14 in that case. 2. You want the absolute best gaming laptop regardless of the weight. You should probably look at Acer helios 300 or the higher end MSI options if gaming is your only priority. Don't get me wrong, this is great for gaming but it's main selling point is the versatility. 3. You need thunderbolt. There is none here. 4. You need an Nvidia graphics card, maybe for using Nvidia broadcast app or for some other reason. While the AMD GPU is as good as a 125W RTX 3070 for rasterization, it does not have the rich AI features that Nvidia GPUs get. Most people don't need this and won't miss it at all.

Very Happy
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far I love this laptop! It does get pretty hot though when playing a game so I suggest buying a cooling mat for it! Also, you need to make sure it is plugged in while you are playing games, as the battery doesn't last long. If you are doing simple things though, the battery life is amazing!

for gamers who dont want a virginity shield
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The performance, screen, battery life, etc. Is all great. You've seen that in all the other reviews. the thing I love about this laptop is that its not cheap, plastic, gamer garbage. The design is sleek and clean and nothing about it screams "I AM A GAMER". looks so nice and you'd never know its packing some serious power underneath. No RGB, no ridiculous logo, no weird edgy design choices. Just clean and simple. Love this thing.

Q: QuestionWill a 32gb RAM stick work in the 1 slot or is a 16gb stick the max?
Asked by Paul.
- A:Answer Per the manufacturer's website, 16GB replaceable stick is the maximum upgrade available for 24 GB total (1x8GB soldered to the mobo and the new 1x16GB upgraded module). That said, I upgraded the replaceable module to 32GB (Kingston Fury: KF548S38IB-32) giving me a total of 40GB RAM. I have had zero issues thus far but it's only about 2 weeks old.

Q: QuestionCan you add 32gb RAM and another 2TB ssd
Asked by Upgradessd.
- A:Answer Yes. I upgraded mine to 24GB total (8+16) but others have gone the (8+32GB) route. Lenovo only claims it supports up to 24GB because that is all this unit can be configured to on their website. The NVMe can be upgraded to 2TB, however you only have 1 NVMe slot on the AMD version. If you want two NVMe slots, you'll need to purchase the Intel version.
