Our Malibu Wood Nightstand is uncompromising. We use solid maple or walnut and matte-gold handles to build the nightstand. The natural patina of the wood delivers a warm, elegant beauty. Our craftsmanship includes soft-close plywood drawers and dovetail joints that provide exceptional quality and strength. We build it all in our facility in Los Angeles, where we marry traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art technology. Because of their abundance, maple and walnut are responsible timbers. They're also hardwoods, so they're extremely durable and long-lasting. At Avocado, we individually handcraft all our furniture and believe in letting the rich character of the wood speak for itself. This way, every piece is original, with its own slight variations. It costs a little more to do things this way. But our customers love having unique, durable, thoughtfully crafted furniture.
We consider every detail in the Malibu Nightstand. For strength and durability, we use Baltic Birch Plywood drawers with dovetail joints. Plywood is also an eco-friendly choice because it minimizes waste and maximizes yield. Our sturdy, wood dresser is both elegant and exceptionally well-made.

Our Malibu Wood Nightstand is handmade in our own FSC®-certified (C156318) factory. The nightstand ships crated.
Delivery is only available within the continental United States only. Optional in-home delivery and setup does not include hauling away your old furniture. Our shipping provider will contact you directly to schedule your delivery. At this time, furniture and mattress and/or bedding orders can not be coordinated to arrive at the same time.
Available in walnut or maple. The walnut build showcases the natural depth and unique grain patterns of the timber. Walnut is known for its complex colors, durability, and strength, but does feature some variation in wood tone and color. For strength and durability, we use Baltic Birch Plywood drawers with dovetail joints. Plywood is also an eco-friendly choice because it minimizes waste and maximizes yield. We do not use traditional lacquers or varnishes, which typically contain harsh chemicals and have strong fumes that can cause headaches, nausea, and respiratory issues. Instead, our bed frames use a zero-VOC ECOS® WoodShield stain. It conforms to CDPH 01350 (VOC emissions test taken at 11, 12, & 14 days for classroom and office use), as well ASTM D4236, specifically concerning oral toxicity, skin irritation, and respiratory effects.
Our assembly utilizes Titebond® wood glues. They meet the requirements of ASTM D4236 for safe use with arts and crafts and have both been approved for indirect food contact. The finished bed is GREENGUARD Gold certified for low emissions. Maple is meets the Formaldehyde-Free claim verification by UL Environment.
Wood bed frames, upholstered headboards, chairs, and furniture can be returned within 30 days. A restocking fee applies to all returnable furniture, but it is waived for exchanges of equal or greater value. Shipping fees and optional in-home setup services are non-refundable. Please review our return policy. Our 10-year product warranty covers defects in workmanship. Please note that natural wood products may display blemishes, knots, or other imperfections as a testament to their age, unique character, and distinctive beauty.
As a Climate Neutral Certified company since 2019, we've measured Avocado's annual cradle-to-consumer emissions, offset them by investing in climate change solutions, and started taking real action to reduce our emissions. We operate an FSC®-certified woodshop — in a facility completely separate from our mattress factory, in Los Angeles — which produces wood dust. Read California's required Proposition 65 warning for wood dust.
