In 2016, Shontay Lundy created Black Girl Sunscreen, a 30 SPF lotion infused with natural ingredients and formulated for women of color. Made with melanated skin in mind, BGS dries completely clear and protects melanin without the white-cast.

Please use the original one. You’ll be protected, glistening and glowing I got it because it said it had lavender in it. It left a white cast on my face so looked a bit purple and pale. And it started burning my eyes and skin. I looked a bit ashy too. Use the original one.

I used the original formula, the kids formula and this one and this one by far is the worst! I have combination skin and it left my whole face feeling dry!! It had left a ton of piling on my face PLUS white cast! Won’t be purchasing ever again.

Really wanted to love this because it claims that it’s made specifically by and for melanated people. Turns out it was a complete waste of money. The formula creates an embarrassingly thick white cast making you appear ashy even when using the smallest amount. Additionally, if you wash your hands after the product has set for anything over 10/15min, it creates beads/balls of product everywhere that are hard to get off. It makes it appear as though you have tissue stuck all over your hands. Lastly, my family and I ended up sunburnt despite reapplying several times throughout the day. We tried it for three consecutive days and finally ended up tossing it. I will be going back to my tried and true Neutrogena.

I don't care for the scent, I purchased the lavender hybrid. when I applied to my skin, it didn't absorb right away, it kinda rolled up as I kept smoothing over my face and neck, and as soon as I opened the cap it gushed out without me squeezing it, it was very loose and thin feeling,nonetheless I still wanted to try it, it was light weight on my skin and my skin felt smooth but I think 5 dollars should be knocked off the price
