Reliable Kitchen StapleThis is my second KitchenAid Food Grinder Attachment, replacing the first one I misplaced. Its durable  construction ensures longevity and consistent performance. Versatile and compatible with KitchenAid stand mixers, it simplifies tasks like grinding meat and creating custom blends. Easy cleanup adds to its appeal, making it an essential tool for any kitchen.

This is the BEST attachment we have ever bought for the Kitchenaid mixer. We have used it to grind up veggies %26 after adding the juicer attachment, processed tomatoes for canning. So easy!! It cleans up easily, as well. 
The attached picture has the addition of the large tray and the juicer.

A canning life saver

My wife bought this for me on Christmas years ago. Love it but for one problem. Plastic housing cracks. And it did not take long for the cracks to appear. I have eight cracks at the back of the housing where it attaches to the mixer. One serious the rest not as bad. I have an automotive stainless steel hose clamp on the housing to keep them from spreading. It needs to be made out of steel.
I would give it a 5 but for the cracks. Works fine. As far as lubrication I put vegetable oil on the shaft where it rides in the bushing.

If only for the cacks.

I had this attachment 6 years using it very few times a year. Always in the box when not in use. Just went to use it and discover the main housing cracked. Not sure what caused it. Maybe caused by placing in the dishwasher?? Believe me, it was not "over used" by any means.

Lasted 6 years using it 3 - 4 times a year.

I've had this for a number of years, but used it very lightly.  Noticed today the plastic housing now has a crack about 3" running down the main unit.  The crack grew 1" just using it today on soft meat cut into 1" cubes.  This should not happen.  Since it's past 1 year old, warranty is expired.  Looks like I'll have to throw this in the garbage.  I don't recommend buying if you want something to last long.

Plastic Housing Cracks

Works great until it doesn't. The base of mine quickly developed a crack (where it attached to the mixer) and that's slowly gotten bigger to the point that meat juices squirt out of it upon use. Also, probably unrelated, but worth noting because I notice it when I use the grinder, there's oil leaking from the back of my mixer. It's pretty gross to get on your hands. And, honestly, if you don't mind it's oil, it can easily be mistaken for something edible. I really wish both these issues didn't get worse, but they seem to with each use. I'll likely halt use of the grinder.

Works great until it doesn't!

We have purchased it few weeks ago as attachment for our favourite KitchenAid. 
After just FIRST use (!) for meat grinding - metal part inside (worm gear) failed. Literally screw at the end of metal part of worm gear has broken. Looks like weak material or construction failure.
I expected strong and reliable device from KichenAid brand got poor quality and money waste instead. Definitely do not recommend it !

I wish I can give 0 star not even one 
I bought this twice and I got the same disappointed each time. I love everything fresh and I like to do everything at home for my family and friends espacially now it is hard time and we do not go out anymore. But this attachment is the worth machine I ever got I did not give up in my first try but it did not do the job for any kind of meat (beef or chicken) not even onions I was planning to get all attachements but I recognize all will be the same I did not want to waste more money and more time or gas now I am doing my old way for grinder but I wish this did not happen. 
My advice do not buy the meat grinder

Do not waste your money or time for this

We have purchased it few weeks ago as attachment for our favourite KitchenAid. After just On first use after washing and left to dry on counter heard a pop and watched the worm gear assembly fly across the counter. Little screw at the end of metal part of the worm gear has sheared off

Broke on first use

I've used this food grinding attachment a few times now, but this is the first time I've noticed black gunk coming from the front of the corkscrew. I re-read the instructions, cleaned it and re-tried it 3x, and it still happens. KitchenAid FAQs say it can happen when the front is screwed on too tightly. Total bunk. The gunk smells like grease. Somehow it's coming from the inside of the corkscrew. This is NOT user error, rather a poorly designed product. Do not buy unless you want black, greasy gunk in your food.
