Reviews
Awesome watch, with a few areas of improvement
I loved the Tsuyosa line when it was first released, but never bought one because the 40mm diameter was just a touch bigger than what I prefer (my wrists are ~6.8 inches, so just on the smaller side of average, but I always think slightly smaller watches look better). I was psyched when I heard Citizen was releasing a 37mm version, and jumped on it immediately. First and foremost - I love it. This watch will look great on wrists between 6 - 7.25 inches. I also think it's easier to dress up than the 40mm, since smaller proportioned watches always feel more at home than their larger counterparts in dressy environments. This ticks almost all the boxes with what I'm looking for in a daily watch - can be worn casually or dressy, take a beating, interesting color without being over the-top-top, etc. Citizen could make a few minor improvements to elevate this to a 5 out of 5. 1) First and foremost, additional colors in the 37mm, but I assume those are on the way and will be released later in '25 or '26. 2) Most importantly, I'd love to see them increase the water resistance to 100m while keeping the case thickness the same. A screw-down crown would be a bonus. 3) While the bracelet is decent, the stamped clasp looks and feels ultra cheap to me. Would make a big difference to go from that to a nicer milled one, perhaps with some sort of quick-adjust. 4) Finally, would be cool if Citizen released some leather straps that could be swapped in for the metal bracelet for dressy occasions. I know I'd definitely buy a few of those. If they made the changes above - especially increasing the water resistance and improving the clasp - I would happily pay $150-200 more for this watch. Bottom line - I'm VERY happy to see this 37mm version, love the darker green, and will definitely buy a black and maybe dark blue if/when they are released. It makes a fantastic, decently priced daily beater or first automatic watch.
